Canadian visa FAQ

Canada visa document questions

How much proof of funds do I need for a Canada study permit?

You must show enough to cover tuition plus living expenses for at least the first year. SDS-stream applicants typically buy a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) at the set amount. The checker confirms the GIC is present and your statements cover the balance.

Does the checker support the Student Direct Stream (SDS)?

Yes. When you select a Canadian study permit the checklist adds SDS-specific items — the GIC, upfront tuition payment and language test — and validates each against the published stream requirements.

Can VisaCheck check a Canadian visitor visa application?

Yes. It validates your passport, funds, travel history and invitation evidence against the Temporary Resident Visa requirements and highlights weak genuine-visitor evidence before you apply.

VisaCheck checks your documents against published requirements. It does not guarantee visa approval — decisions are made by government officers who may consider additional factors. VisaCheck is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. For complex cases, consult a qualified immigration adviser, and always confirm requirements on the official government source for your route before you submit.
